This presentation will provide an overview of how domestic violence presents among children and families. We will discuss the difficult impacts domestic violence has on everyone within the family system. Dr. Siek will provide specific case examples and go over safety planning when working with families who are impacted by domestic violence.
Dr. Heather Siek has her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology and is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor. She has spent her career working as an outpatient mental health therapist for nonprofit organizations. She currently works for The Village Family Service Center in Moorhead, MN. She specializes in treating trauma, anxiety disorders and behavioral disorders. She primarily works with children, adolescents and families. She also teaches part-time in the MSUM Psychology Department.
