My name is Alyse Yoder and I provide therapy for individuals and teens ages 14 and older. As a therapist who has also been a client myself, I know that starting therapy can come with a range of different emotions. I aim to provide a warm, authentic space where you can show up fully as you are. My approach is open and relational, and I believe in working collaboratively at a pace that feels right for you. I greatly value the trust involved in therapy and feel honored to support you through both your challenging and joyful experiences.
I collaborate with clients navigating anxiety, depression, relationship and life challenges, identity exploration, and the layered and intersectional experiences that can come with being a transracial adoptee. As a Korean American adoptee myself, I have a personal understanding of the lifelong complexities that adoption can bring. I integrate lived experience with clinical training to support clients navigating identity development, adoption-related grief and loss, cultural and racial identity, belonging, and the many nuances of the adoptee experience. My approach is adoption-informed and culturally affirming, recognizing that adoption can include both love and loss, often existing at the same time.
I operate from the belief that you are a whole person whose life experiences, relationships, and environments have impacted how you see and engage with the world. I also recognize and understand that social, cultural, and political systems significantly affect us and our lived experiences. If this sounds like a good fit, reach out! I’d love to hear from you!
A little about me: I’m a Korean American adoptee and grew up on the east coast. I now live in Minnesota with my husband and two dogs. Outside of therapy, I love reading, walking, running with my dogs, trying a new ice cream place, and spending time with my friends!
