A primer on how to prepare for and present credible professional testimony in depositions, hearings, and trials (and survive to tell about it).  We will discuss direct examination v. cross examination, preparation, concurrent role of expert, deposition v. trial/hearing testimony, tips to be most effective… and what this all means! Whether you are a county worker or foster parent, understanding the other folks in the courtroom and their roles will leave you feeling more prepared and comfortable in front of a judge.
Bob Hoy is a former Practicing Attorney and Prosecutor with 45-years of experience with lay and expert witnesses in civil and criminal cases, including juvenile, child abuse, and mental health cases. Â Bob obtained his law degree from the University of North Dakota. Â He practiced law primarily in North Dakota, and licensed and practiced some in Minnesota as well. Â Although he is now retired, he still finds the time to get talked into doing things like this.
