I have been providing services to families since 1993. I currently work as a therapist in Stillwater, MN, and the primary focus of my practice is focused on children who are not with their first family, for one reason or another. I have significant training that supports this practice. However, my first and primary goal is to build strong, supportive relationships with the people I work with and their support people. This allows us to have open communication about the issues they are facing so that we can address them in a nurturing and supportive way using sound interventions. My hope is that through these interventions the children and families I work with can build healthy attachments with each other. When children have a healthy attachment, they are able to build their own sense of self and agency, allowing them to successfully develop into adulthood. Most people I work with have a level of trauma that they have experienced. I realize that this is a very tender and delicate part of our work together, and I strive to handle this with compassion and integrity.
