Connie graduated from Bethel College in 1992. She completed her Master’s at the Alfred Adler Institute of MN in 1993. She worked at the Christian Recovery Center for 15 years and at Eden Prairie Psychological Resources (previous organization now reorganized as the Family Attachment Center). She completed Level I training with Francine Shapiro in the early days of EMDR and has continued ongoing training and practice with that tool.
She became licensed as a Psychologist in Nov. 1995 and Marriage and Family Therapist in Jan. 1996. She is an approved LMFT Supervisor and became a Registered Play Therapist and approved supervisor in Dec. 2004. She continues training in all these areas and is in the process of becoming a Relational Life Therapist using Terry Real’s approach to marital therapy.
She has been employed at the Family Attachment Counseling Center where she continues to work with trauma, couples, families, attachment issues, and adoption. She continues to be passionate about helping people remove the barriers that prevent them from having a more fulfilling life.
Family Attachment Center’s treatment approach is gentle and nonintrusive, yet intensive and powerful. The program is guided by the belief that parents are the primary healing agents for children, and builds on parent knowledge about the child’s internal motivations. Our therapists train parents to create narratives that increase feelings of security, address issues in the child’s history and help the child reach new conclusions about his or her life experiences.
