I am an adoptee who has the lived experience of navigating all that is part of being adopted, including reunification. For over 10 years, I served as a volunteer Guardian Ad Litem in the state of Indiana and worked closely with families who provided foster care to children in need of services. As a therapist at Cardinal Psychotherapy and Coaching, I work under the supervision of Heather Deveny-Leggitt, who has extensive experience serving adults, children, and families with diverse needs and backgrounds in foster and adoptive families. I also currently work with families who have adopted, are fostering or were created through kinship.

In my work, I’m passionate about providing support and care for individuals who have attachment wounding and complex trauma as a result of experience during the developmental years. I am highly relational in my work, creating a safe place for clients to explore their experiences to both make sense of them and heal from the imprint of those experiences. While traditional talk therapy can provide much needed support, it is the newer therapies based in neuroscience that are holistic and can create the much needed healing to nervous systems that were impacted at various developmental stages. I’m trained in AIR (Adaptive Internal Relational) Network Therapy, which is a neuro-developmental model that can reduce symptoms related to complex PTSD. I’m also trained in EMDR and brainspotting. I am certified as a neurodivergent affirming clinician and also specialize in ADHD and the Autism spectrum.

I am deeply committed to supporting and partnering with parents and families to understand the unique challenges each family faces. My approach is strengths based, compassionate and collaborative. Using supportive reflection, I seek to reduce the isolation that so many parents experience with children who have neurodevelopmental challenges, learning disabilities, or attachment wounding. Even in the most challenging situations, I look for strengths and use a dash of humor.
