Working with adolescents, families and trauma is where I am most passionate. I believe that the different systems that people operate in impact all parts of one’s life experience. In my work, I believe that it is important to meet folx where they are at and explore where they want to go. Creating a path to becoming your most authentic self is one of the most rewarding and challenging acts a person can do for themselves. I am honored to be a part of this process with my clients.

I have experience in working with individuals who are dealing with adoption, attachment, anxiety, depression, self-harm, sexuality, gender, disability, trauma and social concerns. I not only work with individuals, but their families as well. As a Marriage and Family Therapist, I believe that it is generally important to include parts of your system when making changes (not required, but helpful). Family involvement can be essential when working with clients around attachment and adoption.

My goal when working with families in family therapy is to help them learn to be emotionally available to one another and for family members to create meaning together. I do this by helping families learn how to co-regulate with each other (during conflict) and then come back and reconnect and co-create meaning together after conflict. So many people spend their lives self-regulating that they forget how to co-regulate, and co-regulating is essential for being a part of a family system.

I am also trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), which is a therapy technique that uses eye movements to help rewrite neuropathways in the brain as a way to process and move through trauma.

In session, we can incorporate different techniques, such as Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), Emotion Focused Family Therapy (EFFT), Sand Tray, Talk therapy, Group therapy, and Animal-Assisted Interventions. I have a therapy partner, a Labrador named Jenga, who is part of my practice. Jenga is always an optional addition and does not have to attend sessions if you are not comfortable.
