It can be painful to watch your child struggle with big emotions, worries, anger, or challenging behaviors. To hold both the joy of creating a family through adoption or fostering a child, alongside the pain and difficulties. It can be tough to see the past trauma experiences playing out in the present and behaviors that just don’t make sense.

You struggle to know just exactly what to do to help them get relief and heal the trauma from the past. You understand your child’s need for support, stability, and healing along with your need as a parent to have more tools in your toolbox to help provide some calm to the chaos.

If this sounds familiar and you feel like you have tried everything to help your child, but nothing is working to make things better (and some things just seem to make it worse), therapy can help. In my therapy practice I feel passionate about helping young people become empowered to heal, move forward, and grow, so they can live a life where they can feel confident, in control, and joyful as the best version of themselves.

There is hope for healing and growth, your child and family can move forward.

My area of expertise includes working with children and families to use methods that meet the specific needs of young people and will also be most effective to gain relief from current stressors, big feelings, traumatic experiences, and troubling behaviors including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Play Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Client Centered Therapy and Sand Tray Therapy. I specialize in working with those with depression, anxiety, grief and loss, trauma, reactive attachment difficulties, parenting challenges, behavioral difficulties, anger, phobias, adjustment to life difficulties, and family transitions.

I have been in the mental health field supporting children, families, and adults since 2008. I have experiences working in an outpatient clinic, in school based mental health, providing therapy in the juvenile justice system, and in a crisis shelter. I am Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), am a Registered Play Therapist Supervisor (RPT-S), an EMDRIA Certified EMDR Therapist, and am a Certified Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral (TF-CBT) therapist.
