Denise has a passion for working with children and families and has been doing so for over 10 years as a Marriage and Family Therapist. As the overwhelming need to address the mental health needs of children increased, Denise decided to pursue further training in this area. She is also a Registered Play Therapist and has training in extended diagnostic assessments to diagnose and treat children ages 3 and up.
Denise has studied and been approved by the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy and the Board of Behavioral Health as a clinical supervisor for those who are pursuing license in therapy. Denise is invested in hearing the stories of her clients and supporting them in any life changes that they would like to make.
“I have many years of experience working with children in residential care, intensive outpatient settings, and outpatient settings who have experienced trauma, early neglect, disorganized attachment with caregivers and have been through adoption and failed adoptions.
I approach children and families in a trauma informed care approach. I utilize play therapy and family therapy in building relationship with children and their caregivers. I also provide supervision to clinical trainees as they work with families going through the process of adoption.”
